Since 1999 Rik van de Westelaken has worked for the Dutch broadcasting company NOS. He started his television career in 1995 as an editor and reporter for the local Amsterdam television station AT5. During this period Rik did field training with the Reuters Institute in London plus a short internship with CNN. Later on he became a news anchor for Dutch television (NOS News) and radio (NOS Radio 1 News). Per September 2016 Rik will take a next step in his career as the host of a new documentary type series with the Dutch TV channel Net5. For this new show Rik will be traveling around the world looking for interesting stories to tell.
